Mr. Shibata is in charge of community operation for a FinTech community, FINOLAB, The FinTech Center of Tokyo. He started his position in July, 2019. He has been serving as a board member at the new digital bank, UI Bank, since 2021. Prior to FINOLAB, he was leading The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi’s R&D initiatives in emerging technology, and planning of innovation, and online / mobile financial services. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from University of Tokyo, with a year at Harvard University as a visiting student, and a Master of Science in Development Economics from University of Oxford.
